Conceptual Model of a Log Entry
From Mark Pilgrim I’ve learned of Sam Ruby’s efforts to develop a new log format suitable for use in syndication, archiving, and editing weblog entries. This excellent idea has attracted a lot of support and enthusiasm. A simple-to-implement xml format for weblog entries could greatly simplify the further development of blogging tools.
I don’t have much grasp of all the technical issues surrounding the various syndication formats currently in use, but, as I’ve written before, I find the multitude of options, along with the various turf and political battles that surround them, confusing and intimating. It would be great if a new single format could be widely accepted.
