Alphabet Soup

Jeffrey Zeldman is now presenting a hand-rolled RSS feed for his site, probably based on these instructions. I’m impressed and chagrined.

I suspect that most of the RRS feeds proliferating across the blog world are like mine: RSS output is a feature of the software I use to manage this site, so I provide a link. Sometimes it validates, and sometimes it doesn’t (like now). Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t been paying that much attention.

The whole XML syndication sphere seems to me to be an intimidating hodge-podge of meaningless acronyms and incompatible versions, but I think I’m going to have to start figuring out at least some of it.
